House Of Joy Chinese

BEWARE DON 'T ORDER SOUP. I ordered Hot and Sour soup. I was charged $8.75 to what was supposed to feed 2 people and I did ask the lady at the restaurant before I left this is the 2 person soup she said yes, yes . See photos below. I felt so cheated because the small size she had given me is the size you would normally get with a lunch special. Our other orders were the house fried rice, Mongolian beef, and the house pork. Loved the taste and very good portion size. This should have been a 5? if it weren 't for the disappointing soup portion.

The staff at this restaurant are terrible. They have posted incorrect hours in various places. Yelp stated they closed at 9:30, Google said they closed at 9:00, and their own large LED sign outside indicated they closed at 10:00. I arrived at 8:40 and was told they were closing, so I couldn't order. When I pointed out to the man that their sign said 10:00, he told me I had read it wrong. I took a picture of the sign to show him, but he just ripped it off. Unbelievable.

25 years ago. The quality has really fallen. Maybe the property has changed. Yesterday I had the Jjampong seafood noodle. It was terrible. You can tell someone who doesn't care. It was full of large pieces of cabbage and the soup was sub par with other Chinese restaurants. It's too bad because it's the only Chinese place I know about in Glendale California.

I ordered a hot pot soup. I received a bag with the soup and another container with vegetables. There were no spices, utensils, or napkins provided. I was charged $22 for just the soup! The restaurant is a bit disorganized. I was unsure of how to eat it all.

This restaurant is charming with a comfortable ambiance. The food was delicious. The sweet and sour chicken was outstanding, even though I typically don't like that dish (my friends ordered it).
