The restaurant has new owners as of May 2024, and they have done a great job updating the place. This has been our go-to spot for Thai food, and I consider this an authentic review since my wife is Thai. She ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai and found it to be excellent. Unlike most Pad Thai, which can be overly sticky, this one allowed for easy forkfuls of noodles without the need for cutting. I opted for a shrimp dish with vegetables, which was also enjoyable. For dessert, we had fried ice cream, which they flambéed at our table, and we also tried the sticky rice with mango—a delightful treat. One of the owners, Pat, was very attentive and spoke to my wife in Thai, translating their conversation...
The restaurant feels like dining in someone’s home. The decor is simple yet charming, spacious, and cozy, reminiscent of a delightful house filled with unique snacks from various places. My husband and I have always enjoyed the food here—it's straightforward but satisfying. Having lived in Thailand for a while, I can attest that the flavors are quite authentic. We often order the classic tom yum soup, along with rice and noodles. And let me tell you, their Thai iced tea is absolutely amazing! The restaurant is quite large and can accommodate many guests, even though it’s often not fully booked. We missed this place after moving away, but we returned a few years later, thanks to the pandemic....
My son-in-laws parents are from Thailand. They held a restaurant in Greenwich Connecticut for more than 30 years. His Father is a master chef of Thai and French food. House of Thai Cuisine 's food reminds me of the food we 'd have around our family table when our family Master Chef was in the kitchen. That 's the highest recommendation I could ever give for my son-in-law and his Father cook up the best meal one could ever want! Love this restaurant! It is my go to restaurant when traveling to the NJ area. Ask for Anna. She 's an incredible server and has been at the restaurant for years!
Good food but every time I go the price goes up and extra fees get added on. Today I got charged 8.95 for shrimp Tom Yum and when I showed them on the menu that it was 6.95 for shrimp Tom Yum they pointed to the menu saying it's two dollars more but it didn't say that anywhere. They could not explain it except to say that it must still need to be updated. There are discrepancies between the paper menu and the website too. The food is good but not worth the hassle and the price.

House of Thai serves the best Thai food in Somerset County Area! Not only the food absolutely delicious and spot at any order, the staff is friendly, polite and extremely polite. Even after the two-time move, until I am used by Green Brook, I still make the 20-minute drive only for the courtesy and delicious food!
I've visited House of Thai a couple of times and the food has been consistently good. On my most recent visit, we had the Tom Kha Kai soup, curry puffs, mussels, and Pad See Ew. All the dishes were delicious and the price point is great. The service is wonderful and quick. Would recommend!
I had a unique enjoyment experience when I ordered the Drunken Noodles W/ Beef. It was so delicious! I asked for mild spices and it hit the spot. I will definitely order it again! Excited to try the other items on the menu. This restaurant is definitely authentic Thai
I love this place! Sometimes they forget extra limes or soy sauce but not the end of the world! All of the food is great and the people are so sweet! Have gotten it delivered and ate in! Good prices too!
