House on Parliament

This pub may be too off-the-beaten path for many Toronto visitors but this place is a gem in an interesting & established Toronto neighbourhood (Cabbagetown) - certainly seemed to be a locals favorite. Server was excellent and cuisine simple yet upscale pub fare. Wife and I split an appetizer of scotch eggs -- slightly overcooked (fully hard yolks) but that is quibbling. For my main, I had a prime rib sandwich which was overflowing with meat -- for a dish where prime rib the star I certainly didn't feel short-changed (though it was a knife/fork meal for much of it); home cut fries were equally abundant . My wife had a beef & wild mushroom pie which she enjoyed equally. Prices very reasonable for quality and quantity of food. Highly recommended!

We were happily surprised with the friendly atmosphere, the good service, the selection and quality of the food. It seemed crowded when we arrived, but we were seated immediately. The service was excellent and the portions more than we could eat. The prices were reasonable. They happily boxed what we didn't eat and we enjoyed it a second time at home. We will definitely return.

Very much a locals pub, but still welcoming to visitors. Relaxed but efficient and friendly service. Excellent food, with generous portions. we both had fish and chips which were excellent. However desserts were amazing and more than enough. Good value too

Went after a night at the Phoenix and loved the atmosphere. Great spot, great beer options. I had the wild boar burger, fries are delicious. Everything was great, highly recommend.

Good, upscale pub food. Great selection of local and international beers. Friendly staff, though it's often busy so you may have to wait.
