To start, we shared the Mediterranean Platter ($14), which was substantial enough to serve as a meal for both of us. This generous platter could have easily fed four people, and we particularly enjoyed the falafel, roasted pumpkin hummus, stuffed grape leaves, and regular hummus. There was plenty of pita to complement all the dishes.
For her main course, my wife chose the Buffalo Shrimp 'n Grits ($25). The grits were delightfully creamy, and the shrimp were cooked just right with a perfect amount of Buffalo seasoning. I absolutely love this place! The entire atmosphere and design of the building are uniquely inviting. When my husband and I arrived, we were initially told there could be a 30 to 45-minute wait, so we opted to sit at the bar and sample some of their fantastic beers. We had never been to this restaurant before, but we decided to choose it for my stepson's graduation celebration, as it was a regular spot for him during college. The service was exceptional, and the sandwich selections were fantastic. My only issue was the portion sizes—they were extremely generous, definitely enough for leftovers the next day! We would love to visit more often, but it's a bit of a drive for us. I also really appreciated the wide variety of beers they had on offer. If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by! We stopped here for lunch on our way to Saratoga, and while the restaurant's impressive high ceilings and brick walls—formerly a pump station—caught our attention, the cleanliness left much to be desired. Our booth was situated next to a window ledge that was covered in dirt and dust, clearly neglected for some time. Additionally, there was a leak in the ceiling, causing large droplets of water to occasionally land on my seat. As for the food, it was just mediocre. I ordered a salad with strawberries and added shrimp, but the shrimp had an unpleasant, mushy texture. I don’t think I’ll be returning.
I've been to the Pump Station several times; it offers a fantastic atmosphere with friendly staff, an attractive architectural style, and a very convenient location. Their selection of beers is impressive, complemented by a solid menu. The service was superb, with food arriving at a good pace, and the prices are reasonable for a downtown spot. Plus, the restaurant is family-friendly, and there is plenty of metered parking available.
The prices are quite high, particularly since there is no waitstaff to attend to you at your table. You have to order at the counter and then bring your own table number, silverware, and drinks. During our time at the table, no one came to check on us. Additionally, the tables are arranged too closely together, making it easy for people to bump into each other.
I had lunch at this restaurant and ended up sitting in a booth. Unfortunately, I started choking because the ledge next to us was very dusty. I ordered a cheeseburger, but it was overly greasy. I had to go through four sets of silverware before I could find a clean one. The only bright spot in this experience was our waitress, who was excellent.

The menu features some creative options, and I particularly enjoyed the Korean BBQ wings, the poutine, and the pastrami kimchi Reuben, all of which were bursting with flavor. Everyone at our table of seven was pleased with their meals. If you're in town for a conference, this place is definitely worth considering.
My husband opted for the Pulled Pork Sandwich and was just as satisfied; he would definitely order it again. The only downside was that they were out of root beer and their usual Potato Leek soup. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back!
