Hugh Trumbull Cafe

Last Sunday with my wife and sister-in-law, I had lunch before the Carlton/Melbourne game. This restaurant provides a pub style meal. I had the parma, my wife the pie and sister-in-law the fish and chips. All were over $20. The parma came over a bed of chips at around $24, ten dollars dearer than the Aussie parma at my local pub.The glass of wines were each over ten dollars, which we think is an extremely high price for basic wines.The food arrived at the table before I was back from picking up the wine. Where better to spend time when at the MCG for the Boxing Day test when the players are taking an early lunch due to rain?Yes there are queues to get in but the staff are pretty good at getting you in reasonably quickly and once you have ordered your lunch it comes quicker than the coffee. Meals in the $20-25 range but considering the needed fast turnaround it is more than acceptable and it is a good place to catch up with friends.

My husband, daughter and myself had dinner here before the game on Saturday night. The place inside was fairly full, outside was not too bad. We ordered fish and chips for my husband and my daughter and I had a child's parma each. The wait for our meal was extremely short. The fish and chips were very nice. The child's parma was an excellent size for us. The meal was hot and enjoyable. I fully recommend this placr for a meal.

Unfortunately we are not sure if this is the outlet we are reviewing.The review is on a bistro/cafe situated inside the MCG stadium near gate three.We were there during school holidays and it was very noisy and busy.A large range of lunches are on offer but take your credit card with you. This cafe can be frequented by non members and outside visitors as well as members of the MCC. They do a great breakfast from early in the morning and takeaway is available. Security will not allow visitors to access the arena area but they are welcome to eat in or takeaway.

This cafe is right inside the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) Members' grandstand. It's a reliable place to get a coffee and it has reasonable food. It's roomy, with plenty of seating both inside and outdoors. Security for entry and exit is good too.

Great place to grab a quick lunch. Food was nice without been too over priced and the coffee was good. Not too many people when we went but even if it was busy there is plenty of chairs inside and out.

Not many people realise this Cafe is open during the week until about 3pm so it's a great place on the edge of the CBD to have a coffee or lunch meeting. Réservez une table maintenant

This is a good place to catch up with friends and family at the footy and cricket. It's quite casual and has indoors or outdoors.
