I had an excellent experience at this restaurant, thanks to their outstanding customer service and friendly staff. They are very accommodating with special requests, like adding extra sauce or providing additional plates upon hearing that I was away from home. The cuisine leans towards classic Chinese-American, featuring plenty of deep-fried options and sweet sauces. However, if you're looking for lighter options, there are steamed dishes and brown rice available as well. Some of my favorite items include the pork dumplings, shrimp toast, egg foo young, beef with scallions, lemon chicken, sweet and sour chicken, curry chicken, and brown rice. Great service and good food. Great for take out or eating in. My favorite menu items are General Tso's Chicken and they have the best Crab Rangoon! Yum!! A five minute walk from the South Blvd Purple Line stop in Evanston. If you're in the area check them out!! Today I ordered the General Tso Chicken lunch special that comes with an egg roll and fried rice. Great food at an excellent price during the lunch special.
We've been ordering takeout from Hunan Spring for years, and it's our favorite spot in Evanston. They stick to classic dishes without any gimmicks. We visited on Christmas Day (and we're not Jewish!) and particularly loved the spicy green beans and potstickers. The decor is fairly standard, but the staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.
The food is consistently delicious, and the lunch specials come with generous portions! Although I typically order delivery, I've also gone in to pick up my order. The delivery drivers and restaurant staff are always friendly, and the service is quick.

THE best General Tso's chicken I've ever had in my entire life, and I've searched all over to find one better. If you love General Tso's please give this place a try, I'm fairly positive you won't regret it.
Awesome Chinese food at a great price. Fast service, been going there for 12 years. Recently they added a nice sitting area but I usually order takeout or delivery. Highly recommended.
The veggie dumplings are delicious, flavorful, so doughy! It’s the perfect ratio of savory filling to warm, soft dough in each bite. I mean my god they’re the best i’ve ever had
