Mainz' Neustadt district, the area stretching from Hauptbahnhof (central station) to the Rhine, is undergoing a rapid gentrification with new cafés, restaurants and cool small shops popping-up every month. One of the notable newcomers of 2016 is Hygge, a small café only two blocks from the train station and reason enough to walk around the hardly inviting highrise Bonifatius towers that dominate the entry into the neighborhood. Ich habe dieses Café in Mainz entdeckt nachdem ich einen Artikel über das dänische Wort Hygge gelesen hab, in dem das Café erwähnt wurde, und schaue seitdem regelmäßig vorbei. Die Atmosphäre ist einfach angenehm und unglaublich entspannend, typisch nordeuropäisch halt, unterstützt durch ruhige Musik oder auch mal Frank Ocean etc. (ich denke mal das hängt davon ab wer gerade arbeitet). Das Servicepersonal ist durchweg freundlich. Man kann sich problemlos einen Platz suchen und lesen oder lernen. Mit Essen und Trinken war ich bis jetzt durchweg zufrieden, es gibt eine Karte und eine Tageskarte. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die Zimtschnecken! Gemütliche Atmospäre und tolles Frühstück, sehr schöne Auswahl (ich hatte Frühstück Lille und frischen Minztee). Besonders das leckere Brot von der Bäckerei Vetter und das hausgemachte Knäcke. Sensationell ist die Karamellbutter! Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Weiter so! Ich komme gerne wieder!!!

Ich fühle mich dort immer sehr wohl. Die Speisen und Getränke sind sehr wohlschmeckend und bekömmlich. Die Bedienungen könnten manchmal ein klein wenig aufmerksamer sein! Aber das zieht die Bewertung nicht nach unten. Geht hin und fühlt euch wohl! Réservez une table maintenant

die leckersten Zimtschnecken in ganz Mainz! Gerne wieder, die sind der besten Seelentröster für kalte regnerische Tage und man fühlt sich, ganz dem Namen nach, super wohl :)

Sehr guter Kuchen und auch die Brote sind sehr gut.Ein Platz in der Neustadt der noch nicht Überfüllt ist.
