This is a noisy Japanese eatery where the local Japanese population of businessmen come to let off steam after a hard day's work. There will be a few western faces too mind you but if you are not used to parties of loud Japanese drinkers...then this might not be the place for you. It never gets rowdy. The food is pretty standard for a restaurant serving a large Japanese community but that does guarantee some high class ingredients and the opportunity to eat a few things that you might not expect if you have not eaten in full on Washoku restaurants. Of course the staff are attentive it is Japanese after all. The chairs could be a little more comfy but on the whole this is definitely a good ea...
I went to this restaurant alone during a business trip completely inspired by the reviews. Maybe my expectations were too high but I was not impressed. The restaurant has an amazing ambiance and with all the Japanese eating there it felt really nice. I ordered...only the mixed sashimi since I was not too hungry and it was one of the most expensive I bought at around for pieces (it was the lowest of qualities still). However, it was not nearly the best I have tried. I did not have the chance to try other dishes so cannot judge the rest, but I was really heartbroken since I was expecting a different experience. Important: This restaurant does not accept credit cards so get some cash.
Looking for a quick dinner on my own was going to try Takumi but having seen the queue decided on here instead. Ordered the sushi selection a bowl of ramen. Wow! The sushi was delicious fresh with a nice variety of options....And the ramen was great vibrant and zingy without being harsh. Yum. Being on my own sat at the bar might have struggled to get a table otherwise as it was v busy not surprising for a Friday night. Tip they don't take credit cards possibly they would have accepted a uk debit card but to avoid confusion I paid cash.
As the only non-Japanese people in the restaurant on the night we went I knew we had hit upon a good thing. The service was attentive even though the place was busy, and the food was delicious. While not every dish hit it out of...the park, the sashimi was incredibly good the best I've had in Germany so fresh and buttery it just melted in your mouth. I'll definitely be coming back the next time I am in Dusseldorf.

As many of you recommended the place I can only echo what was written about this restaurant and his good service and quality... price is more than reasonable for the served quality...also to notice this restaurant is rated from the famous Gault et Millau but...you only see if you push the entry door :
sushi was good and I am fully satisfied as native Japanese. I also see some local Japanese people eating in there. They were also very polite and nice. I will always go here when I visit dusseldolf from now on. I recommend to book seats...in advance because it seems like quite popular place.
Always tasty. Super friendly waiters, cooks and sushi cooks. We are having our lunch at Hyuga's various times a week and are looking forward to the next time already. Closed from of August for about days
We visited in October and really enjoyed the sushi. I guess we‘ll be coming more often. Also tried the battera plate.

Superdelicious sushi And all tempura , karaage miso everything perfect ! Very japanese And very friendly!
Pretty expensive but worth it! Best: Yellowfish mackerel with sesame sauce
