Today is likely our last visit to the IHOP on University in Little Rock. We have been regulars for years, mainly due to our fantastic waitress, Suzanne. However, today we faced difficulty finding a parking spot and ended up parking in the curbside delivery area. A very tall female employee came out and rudely told us to move. When we explained that there were no other spots available and that we would have to leave if we couldn’t park, she bluntly replied, “I don’t care. I called to place a to-go order, and the gentleman who took my order was polite and friendly. However, when I called to pick it up, the young woman who answered the phone was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She hung up on me twice and insisted that I had to come in to get my order. It wouldn't have been an issue if she had a better attitude. I’m spending my hard-earned money, and she should have realized that a good tip could have been in her future. I am very disappointed with my experience at this IHOP. This is the first time I've encountered such a serious issue. Today, I chose to place an online order for curbside delivery. After checking in to let them know I had arrived, I waited for about five minutes, but no one came outside to assist me. I then called the curbside pickup number posted outside, and the woman who answered was quite rude. She didn’t even confirm whether my food would be brought out. After waiting a bit longer, I decided to go inside. We came into the restaurant at 9pm on a Sunday to dine in. We were told if we ate in we would be put out at 10pm because he, the manager, try to keep his employees on a schedule to get off at exactly 10pm. We were given our food to go and 9:25pm. We sat in the parking lot and ate our food because we were traveling. We finished eating and the kids went inside to restroom at 940pm. Why could we have not eaten at the table? This is totally unsatisfactory I am very unhappy. I asked for blueberry French without powdered sugar. But I received powdered sugar. I am very unhappy. Kids eating syrupy food in my auto. To make matters worse, they tried to charge us $17 for drinks we never received, including a cup of coffee that never arrived and three glasses of iced drinks, which were also incorrect each time. This all happened even though there were hardly any other customers in the restaurant. It was completely absurd and incredibly disappointing. I don’t think I will ever return to this location again.
This is a great spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at any time of the day. I found the seasoning to be a bit too strong for my liking, but the rest of my party enjoyed it. The food was tasty once I added some salt. The restaurant is clean and offers plenty of seating.
I'm not sure if I had the best experience. I heard a lot of complaints about the service and the orders. I ordered some eggs, and I was a bit worried when I saw so much liquid on top of them.
Pouring syrup over the waffle made it absolutely delightful. The addition of hash browns, eggs, and bacon provided the perfect finishing touch.
