I wasn't familiar with this restaurant and picked it blindly off the internet as a place to take my wife to celebrate our 34th Anniversary. Upon arrival, I was a little disappointed at the lack of ambiance/décor. It was cold enough inside to require you to keep your jacket on. The food was just ok but certainly not reflective of the price being charged for it. It basically lacked proper seasoning. I'm not giving a bad review but I just expected more.
il mattone is very like the small neighboring caffes we enjoyed in italy. the atmosphere is casual, that eat simply and beautifully prepared. the service is relaxed, but always polite and attentive. the portions are generous and served without garnish or fuss. it is movement to come here to have a good, unmarried dinner and a time to meet with the dressing of friends, or lunch with the girls. the artichokes are very good!
This was middle ground to meet our friends visiting from Texas. It was an overdue get together...the restaurant staff was friendly and attentive. Food was awesome and atmosphere was perfect, quiet allowing our conversation to be fluid. Overall, it is the perfect spot...we will be back.
Worse tapas ever! Wine was passed its time. Ordered Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. Both had to be returned and they opened new bottle of Chardonnay. Wine was just ok. I will never go again. The place was dusty and dirty. Place was really bad. Réservez une table maintenant
Was a little slow on the service which I believe was a direct result of the kitchen. The waiter was friendly, the atmosphere great, the owner even stopped by to say hi, which is always the sign of a good restaurant.
Il Mattone was a pleasant dining experience. Best bets are probably the simple salads and pastas. Avoid overlay ambitious fare. Staff was pleasant and allowed us to enjoy our meal. All desserts looked great
The food and service are excellent and a very good value. The owner is friendly and treats you like an honored guest. Wine selection is very good and very fairly priced. Great spot for great Italian Food.
Great food, good service with unique menu items along side of many standards. the grilled brussel-sprouts are really special as was the eggplant. Réservez une table maintenant
A fun and energetic vibe with excellent food at reasonable prices. It has a sort of famlily feel to it. Loved our time there!
