A really big disappointment, not sure what the positive reviews are raving about but our experience was pretty unimpressive. The service was meh; a very uninterested waitress probably annoyed to serve her hundredth Brit that day, but let's be honest that's to be expected most places in Playa Blanca when it comes to tourist spots. The ice cream looked impressive on arrival, my 8 year old's face lit up when she saw the display and was ready for a treat. We went ahead and ordered her a medium tub with two scoops for €3, not the cheapest in the area but not bad compared to home. At the last minute my wife and I decided not to bother with one ourselves which turned out to be a wise move. It turns out that the ice cream is basically inedible chemical mixtures, maybe with a dash of milk in there to allow the advertising of ice cream/gelato . The Mint choc chip wasn't the traditional mint with chunks/chips but mint with chocolate sauce drizzled on top, this means in reality you don't get any chocolate and just frozen Colgate with green colouring. I've never seen my 8 year old refuse to eat ice cream until today, I could tell something was wrong whilst she was pushing it around so I asked if everything was ok. Very sadly she admitted she didn't like it so I thought I'd demolish the mint to leave her the next scoop. It was vile, I'm not surprised she didn't want it, frozen toothpaste is not an exaggeration. Her second scoop was bubblegum so she only has herself to blame for that one, but still just vile frozen chemicals and colouring. Visited the ice cream outlet in the marina for ice cream 3 days this holiday €3 gets you three very very generous scoops of the most delicious fresh creamy ice cream, service to be fair is the same (although there is one lovely lady who so far hasn't served us), we've all agreed thats the best ice cream on Playa Blanca and that's where we're going for the rest of the holiday.
