We come to La Reserve every year to dine at Ilura or have lunch on the beautiful terrace with their magnificent seaview. Our latest visit, however, was disappointing. The offerings on the menu have always been limited, but delicious. This year we found the presentation continued to be spectacular, but the taste bland. As this is an expensive restaurant, the price-quality of the dishes was mediocre. Furthermore, it took 1 hour from the time we sat down until our 1st course arrived. Even though it was a Saturday night and busy, this was unacceptable. Furthermore, no apology, nor explanation for the delay for that matter was forthcoming. Vegetarian friendly. Reached their after a nice long walk of the town. The waiter spoke English so it was easy to discuss the dish of our interest. Best part of the lunch was that the waiter took it as a challenge to deliver a mouth watering dish. It was vegetables and exotic herbs. the dessert Dulche du leche was amazing. Must visit this place when in Basque. Cheers to the team.
