.. where to start? recap: nice food, unprofessional stressed out/pushy/unfriendly/unprofessional waitress. We, Dutch family with two kids years old, arrived without reservation on a Tuesday night shortly before We were were offered the choice by a friendly lady (owner at or we preferred not to wait, we opted for Immediately after we were seated a waitress stood by the table to take our order. As the menu at first was only presented in German and as the creative dishes did have some typical Austrian names, I needed some time to translate the choices for my family members. Die Gänsekeule war durchschnittlich, der Bratapfel leider ohne Geschmack und dem Rotkraut fehlte ein wenig die Säure. Das Brot beim Gedeck war ausgezeichnet, die Thunfischcreme auch . Dafür könnte man sich das Olivenöl und das Minzjoghurt, wenn auch griechisch, sparen. ein zweiter Aufstrich aus regionalen Produkten wäre in diesem Fall besser. Bei einem Essen für fast € 140 . auch noch für Leitungswasser zu bezahlen finde ich nicht in Ordnung.

Hofgassl offers regionally inspired food prepared in a tasteful, delicate manner. Local food, international standard. Very good and friendly service, reasonable prices. The wine list offers lots of local, Burgenland wines, still it could be a bit larger in it's selection.

We had an excellent dinner at this nice restaurant. The food was inventive and very nicely prepared. The wine pairing recommendations included in the menu made the dinner even more interesting. Staff was efficient and professional. Our best dinner in Rust.
This is the best Restaurant in Rust and Burgenland but you have to book to get a proper place and the last order for lunch is at 1:30 as usual in Austria. Wine is excellent and prices are acceptable. Service is straight forward and competent.
euros for this uncomfortable vomiting ... the food could be brought out for the second time by the Austrian waiter's boy, we have already started to eat but have been transferred to another table. It's a terrible disappointment
Excellent food and wines in a beautiful courtyard. Staff is attentive, but could be a bit more welcoming hearty. In any case worth a visit!
