"The third stage on the vinegar led us from Leiwen to Piesport, or to the vineyard via Piesport. The Hotel Moselpanorama is located right on the Moselle Valley and offers an incredible view over the Moselschleife. Rooms, terrace and restaurant allow a great view over the vineyards this and beyond the Moselle. My wife and I got a room with a balcony to the vineyard and the Moselle and corresponding view. This was so beautiful at the sunlight that we took away the walking shoes, brought a large cool pils from below and enjoyed life on the balcony for an hour. Almost 25 km up and down again! From the third climb of each stage, the Moselsteig makes every step and every kilo in the touring backpack feel....... But the ascent to the Moselpanorama was rewarded, as already mentioned. We were hungry and went down to the restaurant to eat. The hostess had served us a table right at the window, see my photo, where we were allowed to enjoy the Moselle view during the meal. The map revealed good-bourgeois cuisine with regional impact. No other experiments from various regions of our world, we already had this for the last two days. The wines come from the husband or family winery from Piesport. In the wine map, a dry Riesling Spätlese Piesporter Goldtröpfchen from the winery Josef seibel jr./Piesport immediately attracted my interest. I like old ripe giants... fortunately my wife too. Only our host was very uncertain about our choice. Whether we really want that would be a wine that would be very rare. We had already noticed that the local taste went rather in the direction of young, light, fruit-sweet or half-dry.... what the German pensioner likes to drink so much on his bus trip to Moseltal. We didn't let ourselves go and found our presumption confirmed! A mature, sustainable Riesling with a very mineral note and a still very present acidity. A fine wine. We both ordered a French onion soup on the way. The soup was good. The cheese covered crusty, dehydrated pieces of bread. Among them a very thick, almost one-pot-like, soup. A slightly sweet aroma, with a good base bouillion. That could be seen. To the main course for my wife a goulash served with parsley potatoes and vegetables. A delicately swollen goulash with pifferlings was served that Gulasch had no reason to complain. Neither the supplements. I ordered a roast beef from the map. Nature, with herbal butter, accompanied by Pommes Frittes and a salad. I had ordered medium, the Roastbeef was a little over it, but was still bearable. The fries fresh, the salad as well. Also my main course was a decent work of the kitchen. Afterward, the hiker can drink without a bad conscience and fill his depot again, another delicious crêpes. Served with vanilla ice cream, hot cherries and cream a good conclusion of dinner. The ambience is typical farm inn, sufficiently cozy. The service worked well and had no complaints. It was quiet in the evening and we sat some more with Father (Koch) and daughter (Service) and sounded over wines, the location of the hotel and the Moselsteig.... Conclusion: A cozy evening in an agritourism that makes good what he can and does not want to be more than he is! That's how you can turn in good conscience. Recommendation on my part for a return. to enjoy the magnificent view of the Moselle Valley alone."
