are you looking for an elegant restaurant in düsseldorf? the "in the naval" is clearly recommended. the stone building with a uniformed but rather useless portier is inviting and the golden letters above the entrance "in the naval" look promising. we were led to a table in the second floor. beautiful tables, the walls with lots of wood. Although this could be cozy, the place made a somewhat stiff impression. we ordered some water that needed some time to be brought to the table. as an appetizer we chose lobster and as the main course Wagyu beef, which was prepared on two different species. the taste of the lobster was in order, but the violet color was less inviting. the bark was rather dry. my gast wanted a giant from Germany, so I asked the waiter about a recommendation. his answer was that there were over 600 giants, how could he give me a advice!? it was just an example for an unconsidered answer. when we wanted to order coffee, we were simply ignored until it was the time of the waiter. I traveled a lot and ate at the best places, but I don't remember that I was served (the word doesn't really fit the place and the setting) with so much arrogance and slowness. let me finish positiw: the dessert, orange with ice, was really excellent. In summary, despite good - not excellent - eating in a beautiful dining room is an unpleasant experience. the chef should check the culture of his team.
