Wir lieben Traditionsgaststätten und hatten am 11.11.2023 hier gut gegessen und getrunken. Deshalb besuchten wir wieder den Stiefel und ließen uns draußen nieder. Sowohl der Service wie das Essen war eine Enttäuschung. Meine Frau und ich hatten den Sauerbraten . Er war trocken und schmeckte weder meiner Frau noch mir. Das Essen wurde ohne Besteck serviert. Auch befand sich auf unserem Tisch kein Krug mit Besteck und Servietten. Als wir höflich darauf hinwiesen, erwiderte der Kellner schroff, wir hätten Besteck! Erst als wir nochmals das fehlende Besteck monierten, sah er auf den Tisch und brachte uns dann das Besteck aus der Gaststube.

Saturday o’clock we made a reservation for o’clock. When we came back a few minutes before o’clock the same person that took our reservation told us that there was no table for us. Strange, not at least because there were empty tables....Apparently they have, at least, two types of reservations. A new reservation, for a later moment, maybe? No, also at a later moment there was no place. It was in particular annoying because it was Saturday evening; all restaurants were fully booked.
A well established restaurant in the historical center of Bonn( besides the Beethovenhaus). I enjoyed again the cordial hospitality and the good food in this “ old” restaurant— well known and appreciated among the Bonn” insiders”. The food: regional and well prepared. We enjoyed this...time an excellent tomato soup and liver with homemade mashed potato- purée/ apples and onions—accompanied by a good Grauburgunder.
Our tour guide recommended this place so we ate lunch here, definitely a good choice! Wait staff was attentive, and made excellent recommendations for our meals! I had the Schnitzel with an egg on top and my wife had a pulled beef with roulade sauce,...both were excellent!
We went for an early Saturday lunch as my husband fancied some traditional German food. He had a pork knuckle with sauerkraut and potatoes and I had pumpkin soup with a side of fried potatoes. It was ok, not amazing but perfectly edible. Good service.

This is a typically German restaurant with super choice of food and beers. Ate here twice during our stay each time it was superb. In pedestrian area so sitting outside is possible without traffic passing.Thoroughly recommend if visiting Bonn.
Go there with friends, have a nice cold bear and a pork knuckle. Typical german restaurant and food!
