We were looking forward to coming here for quite sometime because of the rave reviews but boy were we disappointed. We went on a Wednesday a little before 1:30pm. We figured the lunch rush would be dying down but still have enough options for their buffet.Nope. When we arrived we 1st thought it was closed. It was dark, empty and everything was filthy. They said it would take aminute for them to clean a table for us so we took that opportunity to check out the items at the buffet. There were barely anyoptions, only veg and didnt like appetizing or appealing. We decided to order from the menu instead. Surely after reading thereviews that would be our best bet. I used to order from this restaurant frequently, but I will no longer be doing so because the portion sizes do not justify the prices. They are cheap and skimpy with their servings! I ordered the chicken masala with rice as usual, along with a side of naan. I paid $21 for a small container with very little chicken and limp naan. When I called to inquire about the missing rice container, they informed me that they had run out of rice because it was close to closing time. I placed my order at 8:50, and they close at 10. The proper course of action would have been to call me and ask if I was willing to pay full price for an order missing an item, rather than charging me full price and skimping...

I ordered my usual chicken masala with rice and also got a side of naan. I ended up paying $21 for a tiny container with hardly any chicken and soggy naan. When I called to complain about the missing rice, they simply said they were running low and had run out. I placed my order at 8:50, with closing time at 10. The proper course of action would have been for them to call and ask if I wanted to pay full price for an incomplete order. Instead, they charged me full price and skimped on portions as well.
The Chicken Madras had an unusual appearance but was surprisingly delicious. The Garlic Naan had too much raw garlic flavor and was soggy. The goat biryani was disappointing as it was more like rice and goat tossed in chili oil rather than a traditional biryani. Despite my below average experience, I am willing to give this place another chance, perhaps my timing of 10:00pm affected the quality of the food. I see many 5-star reviews for this restaurant and would like to see if my next visit changes my opinion. Réservez une table maintenant
When we arrived, the restaurant was empty. We ordered the chicken tikka. When they brought out the food, the naan bread was cold and they did not replace it with a fresh one. The food was served in paper plates. Lastly, there was a cashier who seemed to be urging us to finish our meal quickly as they were closing early. The service at Edison Indian Restaurant was lacking in professionalism and I was disappointed. I will not be returning for another visit.
