Me, my partner and two grandchildren fancied a bag of chips and a couple of sausages. Covid policies were adhered to but thats where the good ended. I was overcharged by (yes seriously but because i had two children moidering me i didnt check...my change) and the chips were that inedible that even the children wouldnt eat them. I was told later by a friend that the chip shop was up for sale. I hope it gets sold because seriously its the worst ive ever had from a chip shop. I did go back to the shop as I realised about the over charge when we got to the park but the shop had shut.
Arrived at our holiday cottage late this afternoon and, being hungry after decanting our gear, I ventured to Inglenook for fish and chips. So glad I did they were delicious! Still piping hot by the time I got back to the cottage. The fish was...juicy and the batter nice and crisp and the chips well cooked and fluffy inside. Did have to wait a while due to COVID restrictions but it was worth it.
Since the new owners took over this year, we have tried the fish and chips a few times and both times they were very good. The fish had a beautiful crispy batter. There were enough chips for me, but my husband felt there were not enough this time (and he is not a big eater). The first time we tried them, there were plenty of chips, so maybe it just depended on the day.
This chippy is so much better now that the new owners have taken over. I’ve just had a spam fritter and chips and I really enjoyed it. The fritter batter was light and the chips were chunky and tasty. Also I’ve noticed the chippy’s opening...hours are different too, they are open more often and for longer than under the previous owners. Réservez une table maintenant
Been coming to Ingleton regularly for around two years. Never tried the chippy.Just decided to give it a go,what a surprise we got,I think it was the best f&c we've ever had.good portion of chips,and lovley crispy battered fish,even on getting home. Very well done....Price was ok too.
