I could remember the island bastei from a visit a few years ago: chic ambiente, great terrace with views of the Rhine and modern delicious cuisine. not quite cheap but his money worth. I still know that my appetizer soup was so tasty at the time that I wanted to give up for a second. Everything's different now. First of all, I noticed the bright red carving poster - something that makes up-high gastronomy doesn't actually... especially not in signal red....The first look at the ambiente inside seemed chic. With large leather chairs, tasteful decoration in the dining room, as I had in memory. Here someone has already set a photo, which looks very elegant on the first impression. unfortunately...
as a former masterpiece of this local I can no longer win a positive advantage to this restaurant. pity for the beautiful terrace. we had used to the expensive prices. but the sercice and the kitchen is getting worse and worse. at my last visit, I had ordered a noodle dish with band noodles. when spaghetti came, my complaint was made that band noodles were out, and the waitress was gone. for the bill we had to wait for over 20 minutes. a pity about the actually very beautiful and once very good local.
I was with famous in the restaurant. am abned, it was rainy weather, were in about 3.5 hours we were there only 10 more guests. terrace is beautiful when it is not raining as with me. view of the Rhine.We have received the food within a few minutes. also the drink service and follow-up drinks came quickly and was in order. there were at least three service forces before location. Since now weather conditions were hardly any, I cannot judge how it is on other days.
despite the illness-related failure of a service lady, the male service duo has got everything top in the handle. (the terasse was also up to the last place full!)Everything was welcomed and served quickly! eating was as always very tasty - everything was served almost at the same time. a large lob also to the kitchen that as often as delivered the best! we are very happy to come again and again, the location and eating is simply good and the price adjusted.

the only positive is the beautiful location. restaurant and terrace make an appealing impression. toilets should be renovated and cleaned thoroughly once. servic staff overwhelmed, eating a catastrophe. I couldn't have imagined eating so bad in a restaurant. not only tasteful but also qualitatiw lowermost drawer! much too large menu to cook the dishes fresh.
that is located on the rheinallee and has a beautiful terrace. it is offered daily a lunch table for 6,90 and you can choose between 2 dresses, one of which is a suppe as an appetizer.
the food was just delicious....unfortunate were the service not so satisfying (you waited for a very long time) I would nevertheless go again but would plan more time in definitiw;)
in the bastei you sit very nicely at the top of the park island with great views of the Rhine and mannheim. eating is good, but not always convincing. change by day or week card.

here are actually frogs on the menu. we have left this out of a noisy escape as we have seen it! pity, because the location on the Rhine with a large terrace is brilliant.
