Insel- Restaurant Schwanau

Super target to go out of the city! Only 40min from Zurich? We got there, the small boat (transfer between the land and island) was waiting for us. The restaurant is on a small island, with lots of steps, excellent view and the small lake around! Very romantic place to be. We reserved the table a week an advance. The restaurant is very small what makes it very charming, home feeling and extremely warm welcoming. The service was good, the dishes very good and excellent wine list. We really enjoyed the time with our friends! We really would love to come back soon. At the end, we decided having our dessert outside, because of the gorges summer weather.

It's better to visit the restaurant in spring time or summer so to sit outside and enjoy the view. The garden is very beautiful. there is a small chapel outside, making a romantic atmosphere. Try the fish soup! its the best a have ever try! I recommend the restaurant for families, couples / group friends. Mind you, there is a small boat to take you to the restaurant, you have to pay a small amount of money (2-3 rappen) for going and coming back.

Loreley Setting. Pleasant service. Food is ok, but noteingewiesen to Rave about (salad very fresh but sauce tasteless). Small portions. But very overpriced (15.- for a soup....). Best comes at the end: bring a bag of Swiss francs with you as they don't accept MasterCard! Nor visa!

A fantastic place to go in a sunny day, taking the little boat adds a romantic touch. Sadly the menu is only in German but the staff are helpful and they speak English and even Spanish

Where else do you have a boat ride to your table? Your own island to eat and a meal that is carefully prepared and thought through from beginning to end. A very special place...
