We thought we’d try this place out based on previous reviews and claims of authenticity. We ordered sambal prawns, roti canai, the Malaysian fried rice, beef rendang and a couple of other dishes. The roti/ bread was basically coles bought puff pastry which was dense and probably fried whilst still frozen. The accompanying curry sauce had some seriously misplaced flavours. The sambal prawns were definitely not ‘sambal’, and more a hybrid between a generic curry and a stir fry.The Malaysian fried rice was underwhelming as well.Overall, this was a 2 out of 5 from us- an average of $20 per dish for sub par food doesn’t do the restaurant any favours either.I wouldn’t refer to the food being served...

I had hoped that the high number of positive reviews would mean authentic Malaysian cuisine, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The curry laksa was not authentic at all; it tasted more like a basic chicken soup made with stock. The char kway teow was also incredibly disappointing—it lacked any flavor, despite looking appealing. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they were apologetic, but I received the same noodles back in less than five minutes. It seemed like the chef just added more seasoning to the original dish instead of preparing a new one. Sadly, it seems there aren't any truly good Malaysian or Singaporean restaurants on the Gold Coast.

The atmosphere of the restaurant left much to be desired; it was small, packed, and quite noisy, making it difficult to enjoy the meal fully. Additionally, the staff had limited English proficiency, which complicated communication in such a bustling environment. One waiter had a habit of loudly calling out "from me" to customers, which felt a bit rude, though I don't think he intended it that way. Overall, while the food was okay, the dining experience could use some improvement.

it takes a second visit for us to conquer the “pièce de Resistance” of the restaurant! it is hainanese chicken, boiled to melt-in-your mouth infection, in a soy sauce with ginger and torf and chili sauce. it's thomass best-selling. Réservez une table maintenant
