don 't make the mistake of assuming a 'sol ' in the Repsol guide is equivalent to a Michelin star...the food at this restaurant is ok but nothing more, portions are small for the price (around € 30 for a main course), but worst of all the service is absolutely incompent, the worst we ever had in 30 years...on its website the restaurant refers to its award winning sommelier but she was nowhere to be seen...after choosing on of the more expensive white wines (to indicate what we were willing to spend) we asked the waiter for a recommendation for a red whine to go with our main course but all she could muster to say was 'all our wines are good '...a lot of the wines on their list are not availa...
We stayed at the Princesa Yaiza for a week and ate at all venues that were open (Tapas closed). Bearing in mind everybody has their own experiences, expectations and perceptions I give this place 5*. Nice spacious venue with good views. All staff were attentive and customer focussed. The menus had a good variety of dishes, none of which I had seen elsewhere. The flavours and textures for what we ordered were loverly. We ate here twice during the week and selected different things each time. We never left hungry. I had the pleasure of frequenting Isla de Lobos restaurant in late November 2023. It was a pleasurable visit. The vista is very beautiful and the sound of the waves on Dorada beach added to the experience. I had a lovely scallop appetiser with a nice glass of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The beef tenderloin with an Uga cheese sauce and asparagus was truly Amazing with a lovely glass of Ribera del Duero. The sommelier was very helpful in my choice of both the glass of blanco and tinto. The Bailey’s cake dessert finished off my meal nicely. Stopped to the a la carte breakfast as couldn’t face the bun fight in the main buffet breakfast. Only had white toast, which came cooked on one side. Worst of all the cooked breakfast, which I only have on holiday, was less than Luke warm, with cold poached eggs, something I had never experienced before. I would have said something if @ny of the staff had come anywhere me in the next 20 minutes or so. When I pointed this out to the waitress who eventually came I was greeted with a lost look so can imagine that shape didn’t understand. This is supposed to be a 5 star Hotel. Judge for yourself.

Es una buena idea quedarse a comer en este restaurante para aprovechar bien la visita a la isla. Tiene muy buenas vistas y está junto a las zonas de baño. Hay que reservar nada más llegar con el barco. La carta es limitada (y ya no había papas arrugadas cuando reservamos), aunque comimos bien: pedimos pescado y nos pusieron un plato con dos piezas, ensalada y papas. El pescado de mi marido estaba algo seco. El postre, mouse de gofio, nos gustó mucho.
Visited with my partner and opted for the 12 course tasting menu. The food was delicious and service delightful. Each course in the menu provided something new and exciting, our favourite course was the wreckfish sancocho. Found the price very reasonable for what was included
Desayuno a la carta durante la estancia en el Hotel Princesa Yaiza. Una experiencia deliciosa, café muy bueno, sandwich muy bueno, tortitas, yogures artesanales, una carta extensa y variada. Atención de 10, gracias a Wendy que nos atendió y al resto del personal.
an excellent gastronomic experience, the dishes and all the equipment that works together as a great orchestra. both the sommelier and the francisco that served us, an excellent deal and great professionals. highly recommended.
