I have been here three time because I really do love seafood and also have traveled to Mexico and tasted authentic local cuisine at Puerto Vallarta. That being said, the first time I have visited Islas Maria's, I have notice that all the food that we have ordered are very salty. Some of the dishes are unbearably salty. In my mind I'm just thinking that maybe the chef is having a bad day and would love to visited the restaurant again. The second time we have visited La Islas, we have pointed out that the food is a little salty and would love to not prefer salty dishes... Our food came and still it was extremely salty. The food is great but do prepare to drink alot of water.
It seems like this restaurant might have changed ownership. I ordered a large fish ceviche for $19.95, and it was served in a 20 oz cup, whereas it used to come in a 32 oz cup. They still include a dozen tostadas, which feels a bit silly since we only used about half and barely managed to put any ceviche on them to make them last. I actually went in to confirm that I received the correct size. The ceviche was decent, but I feel like I’ve had better from them in the past. I probably won’t be ordering from here again, as $20 for less than a third of a pound of fish is just too much.
This place is awful. The food had no type of flavor and the customer service was terrible. I had to get up and ask for help because I had been waiting for about 10 minutes for someone to come out from the back. When I went to get a waiter they were all sitting down on their phones and talking to each other. Also the waiters weren’t wearing a mask and when we told the “manager” he proceeded to ask my party and I if we were vaccinated, As if that was their business. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I highly recommend not coming here!
I've been going to this restaurant for about eight years, and even during the previous management, everything was fine. Today, I ordered a large ceviche to go, and it was quite expensive. Unfortunately, I didn't check the bag until I got home. There were no sauces, no napkins, and the container wasn't even full. I’m really disappointed. I've been a loyal customer for a long time. My advice to the new owners and management is to improve your service before you lose the trust of your longtime customers. Good luck!

I ordered a Camarones Estilo Nayarit to go, and to my surprise, when I opened it there was very little food. I got a handful of shrimp inside aluminum foil, the small version of wWendy 's small fries, and a sample of their salad (which is the garden salad you can buy at Sams) and sample of their rice.It was disappointing! $18.60 for a sample plate of camarones. What a joke!
The food was delightful, excellent customer service. Reasonable prices, very warm ambiance. Dine in and also had to get take out from here.!!! So yummy! Would come again!! and telling all of my friends about this place.! Wonderful gem in Hanover park! Love it!
Small and cozy restaurant. Best service from any Islas/Nayarit style restaurant I've been to! Super nice, friendly and food was absolutely delicious! Our new go to for sure!
The food here is quite tasty, although it leans a bit towards the salty side. Overall, it's enjoyable. However, the restaurant could benefit from being a bit cleaner.

Worse customer service ever !! Never had experience such awful service . Food is plain with no flavor and waitress have no idea what they are doing .
If I could give 0 stars I would!!! We waited more than 30 minutes and our food NEVER came!! I will never be back
