Wheww! What an interesting establishment. Service was top notch. I think our servers name was Brandon. Very attentive and kind. The food however was just plain bad. They brought a rock hard loaf of bread and a butter knife to cut this thing. I’ve been a line cook for quite some years and I would never ever ever send bread like that to a table. Good thing I’ve worked with knifes and could safely saw through that chunk of wood. But my real issue is paying $18 for mostaccioli that was made with boxed grocery store dried out pasta with a ghoulish mix of tomato purée and sugar. WAY TO MUCH SUGAR. This was a desert pasta. It honestly kinda shocked me just how bad this dish was. Additionally, this place is known for the mostaccioli which I can’t even begin to wrap my head around. Give Brandon and a raise and fire your KM
I want to like this place, this area needs places like it... but they just miss the mark on food, particularly the pasta dishes. The pasta is overcooked and the sauces are heavy (and sugary for the tomato ones) with little depth of flavor. The bread and formaggio dip are the the only hits.EDIT: Their response below sure makes me want to rush back... I didn't like the food, sorry. Don't like the attitude now either. Extra funny because this is the only bad review I've given. To be frank, I was being kind on how bad the pasta dishes are, a 93 year old recipe isn't good because it is old. And it's not difficult not to overcook pasta.I also can't help to notice on their other responses how quick they are to jump on their service staff but get defensive about any criticism of the food...yikes.
Not sure where to begin everything was so bad. The waitress took a long time to get our drink and appetizer order. Ill just add now the bread and 4 cheese sauce dip was good, but the meals were both cold like they sat under the warmer waiting to be served. The pasta sauce is unlike any sauce we have had before it was very sweet and had no spice or real flavor to speak of. When the waitress found time to make it back to our table she simply said thats the way the sauce is and usually everyone loves it. So after eating the bread and cheese dip we just paid the bill and left. If the sauce is indeed supposed so sugary sweet, and you like sauce that way, then this may be the place for you. But the food being cold and the waitress inattentive at best makes this a no go for us in the future.
Unless a miracle happens I will not go here again. Walked in on a Sunday evening, they were not very busy and hostess said it will be a few minutes. Waited 10 minutes still not seated, then a different person asked if we were helped and we said no. She also said it will be a few minutes. At this point we just walked out. There were only 6 people in the bar area and a party of 12 in dining area were just leaving. But they didn’t have time to seat us. Poor management, that affected a server and poor creating from the hostess.
