This was my second time ordering the evening's house special, which featured king salmon with a mango sauce, accompanied by mashed potatoes and vegetables. Unfortunately, just like before, the salmon was overcooked and of a lesser quality. The mango sauce lacked any distinctive flavor, and the mashed potatoes were bland at best. The vegetables mostly consisted of grilled onions, with just a few sliced carrots and one small piece of broccoli. On a positive note, the service was excellent.
We have visited this restaurant many times over the past 10 years. It has always been our go to place when we wanted to treat ourselves to something special. The last two times (within 1 year) my wife and I feel that it has become too expensive. There are other good options for dinner that won 't break your piggy bank and you can still enjoy a quality meal with a glass of wine. Would I recommend this restaurant to my friends...actually yes I would but bring your savings account.
Kinda of a bummer this time around the dishes were not up to par. I had the king salmon special that was a little over cooked and tasted a little fishy and we had a pasta dish where the pasta was over cooked and rubbery. The one saving grace was the shrimp appetizer where the shrimp was fresh and delicious. Overall, I will check out other Italian options before coming back.
Our server was new and seemed a bit overwhelmed, but she managed the pressure admirably and had a wonderful personality. The rest of the staff also pitched in to help wherever they could. Italianisimo has been our favorite restaurant since it opened in Woodinville. Although we no longer live there, we're close enough to visit occasionally, and it is always worth the trip. Our experience with service was very disappointing. We waited 30 minutes for our cocktails and then 45 minutes for water, along with the return of our waitress. Unfortunately, we had to leave after an hour and a half without receiving our food, due to the inadequate service.
