9/30/23 We had dinner at the restaurant. The sashimi dinner, spicy tuna roll and saba noodles with tempura was so good. The service was good too. The atmosphere was okay. The restaurant is small and tight. They need to remodel. The carpet, tables, walls, bathrooms, everything looks old and needs replacing. We had an amazing dining experience at Izumi. The quality of the food, the service, and the atmosphere far surpassed that of other upscale sushi restaurants in the area. The ingredients are fresh and authentic, and I appreciate that they don't overload their menu with "specialty rolls" like many other places tend to do. This approach allows the sushi to remain simple and high-quality, with a focus on the fish itself. Izumi is on my list to take every relative, friend, coworker, to have great Japanese food. Tonight we took my parents and uncles and they were all very impressed by the presentation and quality of the food. My aunt, who was recently back from Japan claimed that it was the best sushi and sashimi that she has ever tried. Ever! Congratulations to the entire staff in making us feel welcome and always a joy to be there. I do have to apologize for spilling the tea on my way out. The only reason not to provide a raving review for Izumi and sushi chef Shito-san is a desire to keep this gem of a Japanese restaurant a secret. The lines can be daunting during rush hours. Izumi is easily the best sushi restaurant on the East Side. The menu is excellent, the fish as fresh as it gets, and the precision-cut sushi is out of this world. If I had to choose a single restaurant in the PNW to go to for the rest of my life, it would be Izumi. Réservez une table maintenant

This is a nice local spot for high-quality sushi. While the ikura isn't my favorite compared to other sushi places, the chutoro is absolutely delicious! The staff is friendly and attentive. Be sure to arrive before the dinner rush, or you might have to wait. Ordering individual nigiri can get a bit pricey, so it's a good idea to take advantage of their specials to save some money.

There are many sushi places and there are many Japanese restaurants, but few are outstanding. Izumi is an outstanding Japanese sushi restaurant. Sushi is very fresh. Japanese dishes are execellent. This is one of the best in the whole Seattle region.

Absolutely fantastic Japanese restaurant! Marvelous amount of options, friendly and helpful staff and delicious food that was prepared to perfection. You can't ask for anything more than that. You all need to eat here.
