Izumi Japanese Restaurant

We never thought that a local Japanese restaurant serving decent sushi would open in the western suburbs! Located near some of our favorite restaurants, we finally got the chance to try out Izumi. The pricing for the sushi, in our opinion, is fair and absolutely worth it, despite what others may say. Let's dive into each dish. The spicy tuna was a bit of a letdown for us. It was good, but not great. The lack of sauce and too much sticky rice compared to tuna made the flavor unbalanced. However, the other sushi options were very good. Loved it. Really good fresh sushi and sashimi followed by Japanese style sweet and sour pork, teriyaki beef and rice. Service was a little slow to begin with but they were busy and expected. As soon as they were free they took our order and food cake out pretty quick. Deserts were loved by the kids and adults-try the trio moose. Probably not authentic Japanese but yummy. <br/ Cold beer in chilled glasses. Rice comes with all meals which is a bonus compared to most restaurants. No complaints. Will be back.

I have visited this restaurant several times and have always enjoyed the food. In my opinion, this is the best Japanese restaurant in the area. I tried the Izumi Gyu steak from the menu and it was delicious, but I found it to be a bit expensive. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was good. Be prepared to spend a little more when dining here.

Am a regular customer at Izumi. I absolutely love Japanese food, and Izumi has one of best sashimi and sushi I have tasted. We have ordered the Sukiyaki in the past which is also delicious, perfect for couples or families. Featured is one of their Sashimi Platters on offer plus their Seafood Tempura Udon. Came here with friends for a night out, pick a lot of food, plus had vodkas, and it cost us $25 each. Bargain. And the food was absolutely delicious, we will be back, this time making room for dessert.

Loved it. Fresh food, great service. We always order about 7 to 8 entrees for 2 people plus 2 beers and pay around $80. Great value for money and satisfying. Sushi and sashimi is melting in your mouth.

The food and service were fantastic. The ambiance was very good and had a genuine feel of Japanese cuisine. I recommend trying the tap beer and as many yakitori skewers as you can. Itadakimasu!

Me and my boyfriend was there for lunch last week. The restaurant decorations was nice. It gives you a feeling of Japanese . The food was great everything so fresh except the oysters. Réservez une table maintenant

Always happy with the food and the service!!! Fresh seafood and awesome sushi. I love the tempura prawn roll and the tempura mixed veggies. The tempura batter is amazing crunchy!!!

Absolutely adore Izumi! Wonderful food and the restaurant is always clean and relaxed. Ingredients are fresh and the Japanese mayo is to die for, I simply cannot get enough.
