I am trying so hard to make this my go to neighborhood restaurant. We check in, our table was ready but we decided to get a drink at the bar, the bar area is light, airy and refreshing. We wait, and wait and wait.... one of us decides to go to the bar and order our drinks (there are 4 of us) a manager type person walks by, I said do you not have bar servers, he says 'yes we do ' well we have been here awhile, but now we are ordering at the bar. To his credit he immediately went to the bar and asked to deliver our drinks to us. the rest of the night was great!! our drinks and food as always are delicious. food is always great and definitely elevated since the restaurant was renovated. only issue is three visits in a row, the hosts are extremely cold in their communication. these have been all different folks each time who just plain seem annoyed that people have come in to eat even with reservations. when we left the exit comment was uninterested and cold. i don't mean to sound like i need folks to jump up and down and be excited but just a standard polite exchange is always appreciated.
After we were seated, the waiter or staff unfortunately didn't greet us until almost 20 minutes. We were about to leave when our waiter greeted us (without an apology). Be aware that the noise level is extremely high and one has to yell to communicate with others at your table. How can a restaurant pay for a newly renovated interior design that creates bad acoustics? The food was ok, but charging almost $10 for bread (which lacked taste) and a baked potato is poor judgment.
Drinks were good and priced about what you would expect. Value took a hit because the pork chop and skirt steak were ok, but could have been much more flavorful. Cook well just not a lot of flavor. Sides (fries, creamed spinach, bread) were all very good. Service was friendly and attentive. I would certainly go back but would hope for slightly better taste with the meat.

The food was fantastic and the staff were extremely friendly. I really enjoyed the new remodel, it gives the restaurant a more light and bright atmosphere compared to the previous Izzy's. While some may find the service a bit slow, if you are aware of this beforehand, you will have a wonderful dining experience.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot to gather with friends. The bar is stunning and the food is absolutely delicious in the recently renovated and upgraded dining room. The service is outstanding. It is our favorite place to go on the peninsula.
The remodel for Izzy’s was very well done. Service was excellent although the waiter did defer to the man at the table rather than myself the woman who was hosting. Aside from that everything was very good.
Excellent food, service, environment, especially after dinner drinks in the bar. Sorry to see them close for renivation for time and loose all the great employees.

Very happy to see Izzys re-open in san carlos. They have done a great job with the re-model. The service was really good as well.
I am very pleased with the renovations and excited to have Izzy's back.
