We have been coming to this place for about 6 months - since it opened. The food has been first class every time. The Sushi is fresh and the hot dishes great too. restaurant is always unfailingly clean. The staff are often Japanese speakers - so sometimes communication can be a little stilted - but really it adds to the air of authenticity. They do take-away and its probably one of the healthiest take away options on the bust Ashburton high street strip. I think it will be more popular with locals as its discovered. Kid friendly too which is a bonus.
Very disappointed! Ordered 3x platters and for what I paid for, I didn’t expect them to skimp on soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger. Quality of the sushi wasn’t what I expected to serve to my guests. Some of my guests only wanted ginger but unfortunately, some were smudged with wasabi because they were transported in the same container. I only ordered from them because Ashburton sushi was closed for the holidays. If Ashburton sushi isn’t open, I’ll go to Woolworths. My guests weren’t impressed and so was I!
The crispy chicken sushi so the best I've ever had always still crisp on the inside. My kids love the tuna, beef, salmon sushis, and the staff are always friendly they always remember we prefer paper bags to the plastic containers. Bento boxes are great as well as the sushi platters. It's our favourite sushi place. Dine in remains closed at present (due to staffing issues resulting from COVID I guess).
We got takeaway from here, and it was very disappointing. The sushi looked as if it had been sitting in the shop for the whole day, but tasted surprisingly nice. The terriyaki chicken had delicious sauce, but the chicken itself had a gross flavour too hard to explain but not very good. The katsu curry was delicious and was crunchy even though it was takeaway.

The sushi here is great. Fresh. Great tasting. Filling was great. They have a wide range on menu with over 100 options! They have bento boxes, which you don't usually find in Melbourne at all. Very traditional.
The restaurant is relatively clean and the food tastes pretty good. The lack of crowds makes me want to visit this place, and they also allow you to bring your own alcohol (BYO)!
Clean place and good taste for inexpensive price. I would definitely go back. I wish they provide wasabi on the table
