J Pauls Terrace Cafe

My friend and I just wanted some desserts and drinks and we had a chance in a place called Merrick J Paul Terrace Cafe. In a people walking were at the bar and the host behind the bar said we could sit at an elevated table / tool. Laura came by and she was so inviting. It seems more and more cautious to go to bars you don't know anyone yet. But she was so welcoming that we immediately relaxed. In view of the fact that it was a Orish Bar with a restaurant where it was appropriate even better. There was no one in the restaurant since we got there a little late, but the bar had a good lot of people. It just felt good to be people again, just try to relax and have a drink. The other bartender (male) was also very friendly and we ordered a Guiness and a cocktail. The Guiness was pretty smooth and went so fast and it hit the place. I complained about how there might be a hole in the glass and half of the cartridges took their own glasses to complain. It was a very beautiful moment and brought a lot of laughter. It felt like there were more drinks then poured!! Lauri was such a wonderful person. Usually she's not on sat, but we were lucky to have her this night. She usually waits in the restaurant at the bar. We will make it a point to try the food there if it is safe!!! We managed to get some desserts, including a beautiful torturous and a peanut butter chocolate type cake. Nice both of them, the Tartufo preferred. We stayed there until closing and unfortunately doing to avoid pandemic restrictions, had to leave the premises before they had to avoid getting tickets. What a rustic place and I drive many times and very happy kept for a beautiful brew!!!

I've lived my whole life in Oceanside and I've never been to J Paul's, but I've always heard really good things about it. I'm glad to say that I agree. The atmosphere was very pub as with a separate entrance to the bar. The stands were spacious and the area was open. I could see four TVs ventilating another channel. I ordered the Brat-Rind-Café (I think), this is really a French bath and it was excellent. I seldom ordered it and it rarely came. It almost never happens. My husband ordered steak idbits that were good that I wasn't a fan of the Bbq sauce. The table came with freshly roasted potato chips, which I think we are Idahoes. We got the Spinat Artichoke dip that could be more tasteful, but was not salty and I appreciate it. There was a lot of spinach and artichoke in him as well, so it was not quite thin. It came with chips that could not handle the thickness of the dips itself. I tried them with the potato chips and they were good. We also have an order of 10 Jumbo hot wings. They were excellent, like the blue cheese dip. Our server was very attentive and I'm sorry I didn't get his name. We enjoyed lunch and will return in the future.

Great bar food. Good service. Good place to drink watch sports. They have a bar on the right side of the entrance and on the left side is sit down dining. There’s even a large room in the back if you want a large group or small/medium gathering. I love the onion rings, they are amazing! (hand dipped). Chicken wings are meaty and no xtra charge to split the flavors in one order. I really come here just for the onion rings and wings, but the burgers and other stuff is good too. Portions are very good and they have specials throughout the week. Look for coupons in local flyers and specials, but some coupons require cash payment (15% off order). Parking lot available with handicap parking and accessibility.

Menu is what you expect from a bar/restaurant. The second time to eat here and food was good both times. Service is friendly and attentive. Local, fast, timeless target for standard tariff/drink.
