The cafe seems to be loved by the locals. Quite a lot of customers mid morning. Came in for a piccolo coffee, a chocolate croissant and a chocolate eclair. They all tasted really good! Price for the three items comes to $15.10 which is on the higher end. For their coffee, I think they use a light roast for their beans so recommend a double shot for anyone who likes their coffee strong. They offered sweet and savoury pastries as well as freshly baked bread, hot sausage rolls and pies. Places with these sorts of selections are hard to come by these days. This is, without a doubt, the best Bakery/Cafe in Tasmania. We have visited Tassie three times in the past 4 years and always make it a priority to eat here. The cake display is divine and almost impossible to resist. The staff are friendly. The coffee id great. The food is very special. Hidden in the side streets of Battery Point, do yourself a favour. Hunt this one down. You wont be disappointed. Through Salamanca, up the street past the silos and turn right. Through the circus and right at the next intersection. We will be back!
We visited Jackman McRoss several years ago so prices in the photos are probably no longer accurate. My friend is a baked good junkie so we had to stop here. She said it was a must. We weren't disappointed the food was delicious. We had a pie each the pastry was really flaky and delicious, the filling full of flavour. As we left we couldn't resist grabbing a sweet treat to eat while we walked.
Super attentive staff; served by three purple, all of whom knew exactly what we had ordered and what we were waiting for. We were seated immediately and table service was prompt. Our croissant with jam butter and the other with ham cheese were to die for. We will be back tomorrow and every other morning before we head back home to Melbourne later this week. Just divine. Great cafe in a cute street. The food and price were really good. Can understand why this would be a favourite with locals. Had the curried scallop pie which was yum with great flaky pastry. My mate had the salmon bagel which had really good bread too (probably the best bagel dough I’ve had crispy and not dense). Would revisit.
Wonderful place for brunch! We stopped by after recommendations from a friend and lobed the homemade pastries and the overall vibe of the place. We even picked up a couple of items for takeaway to share with friends. Would recommend others to drop by coffee some good coffee and delicious brunch.
