The place in general is great, food and drink is absolutely fine, all of the staff bar one are lovely. That one woman, short grey hair, older lady, ruined the whole thing with how rude she was. Zero customer care and zero manners. When you bring in a large group who can bring in a large amount of income and recommendations for the business, receiving such an abysmal level of care is embarrassing and damaging for what is a great place. Speaking to other members of staff(who are fantastic) this was a common theme. 100% go here, but if you see her, RUN!
A table was booked for 11/12 of us for the “Afternoon Tea” which was a work occasion. The food was grand, reasonably priced and the venue was lovely. I was just shocked at how we were spoken to by the waitress. Unprovoked. Genuinely, did not feel welcome there at all. She demanded payment half way through which was not only strange but also very uncomfortable. An experience…. But not a pleasant one when people are just trying to get together and enjoy themselves. Sorry to write this but maybe they were having a bad day.
Stopped for lunch at this popular restaurant/bar/cafe. Really busy yet they managed to find us a table so I would recommend booking in advance. Coffees and teas ordered whilst we perused the menu. The chicken salad was tasty, with a decent amount of chicken and also bacon, the omelette was plentiful and packed with filling and the ciabatta and fries again didn’t skimp on the filling. Really nice staff, well decorated and we all enjoyed it and would return again for lunch. Réservez une table maintenant
Our server, named Flow, was not very courteous and seemed to be stressed out by our table. She also got our order wrong when we ordered afternoon tea. Service rating: 1. We dined in for lunch and the price per person was between £20-30. The food was rated a 3, and the atmosphere received a 4. Despite the issues with the service, we recommend trying the afternoon tea at this restaurant.
Although we were told lunch would be a long wait an hour and 10 min for 1 omlette and 2 jacket potatoes is excessive, no apologies even though we had an obviously hungry 6 year with us.
