James Street Old English Chippy

Moved to the area a few months ago, friends had always recommended Olde English Chippy but there were long queues every time we passed now I know why! Managed to get there at a quieter time yesterday and OMG friendly staff, ever so accommodating even though they were just about to close, generous portions and then when we got home and demolished the fish and chips WE LOVED IT! Fabulicious, tasty, delicious #lickinglips Oh my days, we could eat this every day!!!! We will be back very soon!

frankly the best chippy i’ve been to in years. everything is gorgeous and cooked perfectly. tastes amazing and i can’t wait to go back. my only issue is that they cook on arrival which can lead to a longer wait time than average, which is usually ok but sometimes i’ve nipped in before getting a bus and barely made it. little expensive compared to the generic chippies (like george’s) but honestly it’s worth it. love the two ladies who run it as well!

Today, my friend and I ordered fish and chips at this restaurant and they were absolutely delicious! The server was very friendly and even gave us extra chips along with a nice wooden fork to eat them with. We truly appreciated the hospitality and will definitely be returning for more! - Deborah

The most delicious Haddock Chips I have ever had locally. In fact, totally on a par with our favourite fish and chips shop in Scarborough! Friendly obliging staff. Will most certainly be back again! Réservez une table maintenant
