Sadly, 1 star review. I went here with my fiance and her daughter. We got over $100 worth of food and drinks. We were very unsatisfied with the service, and the cook. I thought these places gave a bit of a fun show; but, our cook did nothing but cook and keep his mouth shut. The food was low quality, but, edible. For sure not worth the price. I ordered a screwdriver (vodka orange juice). They didn 't even have real orange juice, it was some type of cheap orange drink ... At a high priced restaurant?!? High price, not high quality. The show was not a show. A very plain and angry cook. No jokes, no tricks, no words, no anything. We felt the service was bad as well. I gave a 10% tip for the bad...
Overall, I was really disappointed with our meal. My in-laws love this place and picked it for a special meal. They still love it but this may be all they know for hibachi. To start the restaurant is dark and dingy. Ceiling tiles look like they've never been cleaned and the vents are dusty. Everything is old and uncared for. I could deal with this if the food was good. It was mediocre at best. They don't use salt or pepper on anything. None of the meats are seasoned, unless you add the egg sauce which is extremely oily. The veggies have no seasoning. The fried rice is barely seasoned with soy and teriyaki, but again little flavor. The order of the meal is odd, at every other hibachi restaura...
If I could give this place no stars I would. This place is Japan 77 but there were signs also saying Domo 77. Same owners. Groupon brought us in here. I will never dine here again. We had dinner reservations at 7pm. At 8pm we still haven't gotten our soup or salad. Waited to be seated for 30 min. And waited at our table for another 30 min to have our order taken. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time here. Trust me. I came on a Saturday night with a party of 4 with my family and my dad wanted to use the $25 gift card he received in the mail... I was skeptical about coming here from seeing the reviews, but did not want to upset or change my family's plan... We just got screamed at by the old waitress. The food was bland, the hibachi got a bit burnt but overall I had a good night because of the other couples at the table. We used a Groupon and tipped around 10% because we weren 't that satisfied. The waitress Esther called us over before leaving and started reading the Groupon terms to try and trick us into tipping more. Came to this place because they had a groupon $50 for $28. The place looks very run down inside and out. If we didnt have a groupon I would have probably walked out based on the decor on this place. We were sat in the middle of two parties. It was literally the only table being used. Our chef was sweet and put on a bit of a show. I had the filet and garlic shrimp. It came with soup, salad, vegetables, and fried rice. The filet was very tender and flavorful and was cooked exactly medium like I ordered it. The shrimp was cooked well and had a nice garlic breaded topping on it. The rice is very good but I could only eat a little of it bc I was so full from the rest of the meal.
