We've traveled all over the country and even abroad, but we always end up comparing other dining experiences to Jelly Cafe, which we believe stands out above the rest. While the restaurant could benefit from more space, they do have another location on Quentin Dundee in Palatine for those seeking a larger setting. The negative review is likely from a jealous competitor or a dissatisfied former employee.
I ordered the avocado toast with egg whites and their house potatoes, while my husband opted for the huevos rancheros, which he described as excellent. Everything was as fresh as promised, and the homemade salsa added a delightful touch! When we arrived, the restaurant was quite busy, with around a dozen tables either placing orders or dining. The lone server was understandably overwhelmed, trying to balance serving and cleaning tables. I had a fantastic brunch with my cousins! We had a great time chatting with the staff, sharing laughs, and they were just as lively and engaging. We’ll definitely return for our next get-together! I witnessed the manager responding to a complaint from another table, and to my surprise, she rolled her eyes as she walked away, which I found quite unprofessional. The owner might want to think about bringing in a more effective manager to enhance the overall experience.
