Found Jersey 's when in Kearney. It was pretty full on a Friday night, with no major sporting events to draw people in to watch all the big screens, so we figured it must be OK. It 's your typical sports bar: plenty of big screens and a good variety of beers on tap. The menu is limited, mostly bar food. They also have pizza. I ordered a grilled chicken salad; it was about the only item that wasn 't a heart-attack on a plate. Our meals didn 't come out together. The salad came out first on a large shallow bowl with a wide rim. The bowl was warm. Not great for a salad, but forgivable if that means it was freshly washed. However, the rim of this bowl was warm, greasy, and covered with fingerprints. Then I took a closer look at my pint glass of Guinness. It had lip prints on it... that weren 't mine. I quickly lost my appetite. We advised our waitress. She had been very friendly and we thanked her for her service. But when we pointed out the warm, greasy salad bowl, she said, Those are probably just my fingerprints. I swear that it 's clean. I guess she has very sanitary hands. She seemed offended that I could think that my bowl was dirty. We left without eating.
Stopped in here for a quick bite while helping my parents pack to move. I've been here a handful of times while in town for various reasons. Service is always very good. They have a good sized bar as well. Though I was disappointed that I couldn't get a lemon drop martini...no simple syrup!?! My mom's fuzzy navel was good she said. My mom had their fried shrimp, my dad had their boneless wings and I had a pepperoni/hamburger pizza. The pizza was pretty good. Thought the sauce was a little on the sweet side for my personal taste. However, the thin crust and toppings were pretty yummy. They have a great set up of tvs so you can catch up on your favorite team any time. This is locate in the Northern part of Kearney across the street from the mall.
Good grief. That 's about all that can be said? A salad that looks to be a mess of nothing, mislabeled as to what should be expected, and when refused a snippy oh you ordered it so you have to pay for it response. You do realize you should be pleasing you clientele, don 't you? And then you turn $22 of food into $42? Complete and total ripoff. Snippy waitress tip is in that $42. By that amount we HAD to have been charged for the included beers Not recommended.
Usually a good meal but tonight I tried the wings. Big mistake! Garlic Parmesan canes out like a liquid butter withe a little garlic in it sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. I know there's some better sauces out there. Our waitress was slow and couldn't remember anything. I had to go get my own refills it took ten minutes to get my ticket after I asked for it. Come on Jersey's, you're better than this!!!!!
