We ordered the lunch special, which was reasonably priced, but unfortunately, it didn't taste great. The meat was heavily spiced with cardamom, while the chicken lacked flavor. The salad was devoid of lemon or olive oil, and the falafel was dark red on the inside. It was a disappointment after driving an hour and a half to get there. The Nile Restaurant on Harlem is far better. They should have Arabic cooks instead of Spanish ones, as they don't seem to know how to prepare Arabic food properly.
I enjoyed a nice meal at Jerusalem Grill! The highlight for me was definitely the meat; it was beautifully seasoned. While I’ve had better hummus and the rice was just average, the overall experience was still satisfying. The lunch special was a great deal—under $9 gets you rice, pita, salad, beef kabob, a beef patty, and chicken shawarma. It’s really affordable, fresh food!
Jerusalem Cafe is like a cheat code for affordable, nutritious food in Oak Park. It's just about the cheapest place to get tasty salmon in downtown OP, and all the food is reliably delicious. I've lived here long enough to remember the restaurants that used to occupy this space, and I'm glad Jerusalem Cafe has stuck around.
Terrific place in downtown OP. Food is extremely tasty and fresh. Quick and thoughtful counter service. Particularly like the beef shish kabob, chicken shawarma and combination feast entrees. Don’t forget the red hot Réservez une table maintenant
I’ve gotten take out 3 times, tried different mains each time and impressed every time. Great food that’s affordable! Delivery was accurate and timely. It’s become our favorite take out
Food was good, you get healthy portions of whatever you order, I had the falafel plate, not enough sauce but it was still
Inexpensive, flavorful Mediterranean food. The falafel were fabulous..crunchy outside, fluffy inside and very flavorful
