I really wouldn’t go again. The food was ok. The ambience was fine. But the service (in an almost empty restaurant) was nonexistent or very slow at best. Staff didn’t come near us and we had to call out to order. Empty entree plates left on table for ages before mains eventually served, and despite trying to order dessert we gave up and called it a night. No attempt to provide bill to table so we got up and paid at door and left. It’s a pity. Good be decent if they bothered.
I am a regular at the Jewel of India in Manuka whenever I visit Canberra for work. It is one of the few good Indian restaurants in Canberra at which I have never regretted visiting. My favourite dish is Murgh Methi Masala(Chicken in Fenugreek curry). The staff are ready to customise dishes as required and the ambience is very pleasant as are the other guests.

The restaurant is situated in Manuka within the shopping area and is very easy to find with plenty of parking nearby. The service was excellent, choice of dishes extensive, the food was amazing and reasonably priced. Highly recommended. Réservez une table maintenant
We enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The food is absolutely delicious. We loved the eggplant dish especially. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Canberra.
The Jewel is always good. Have eaten there on a number of occasions, mainly lunch, and the food and service are always excellent. Great for a catch-up in a quiet setting.
Great food (which took a little while but we were rewarded with some extra poppadums) friendly service, nice atmosphere. Would recommend.
