We had a good meal, though the service was just average. We stopped for lunch on our way back to New Jersey and ordered Gobhi 65, Gobhi Paratha, and Paneer Tikka Masala. The Gobhi 65 was tasty, albeit a bit oily. The paratha was also enjoyable, but it could have had more filling. Be prepared for a bit of a wait for your food, as the staff appears to be limited. The paneer gravy was somewhat diluted, resulting in a lack of flavor, and it was served with rice. The portion sizes are decent. The restrooms were clean, and there is plenty of free parking available right outside the restaurant.
This is my favorite spot for starters and one of the best Indian restaurants nearby. You absolutely have to try the Ginger Paneer, Gobi 65, Paneer 65, Mirchi Bajji, Mushroom 65, Ambur Biryani, Kottu Parota, Schezwan Fried Rice, Parota Korma, and all the Dosas. After a long time, I finally tasted the flavors of Tamil Nadu, especially the Kottu Parota. They don't serve liquor, but it’s fine to bring your own; they charge $5 per table for that (there’s a liquor store right next door). I'm really glad they opened a location in Wallingford! After we were done eating, we waited an additional twenty minutes just to get the waiter's attention. When I finally got through to him, I requested the check and a few boxes for our leftovers. We then had to wait another twenty minutes for the boxes, and after that, we waited an extra ten minutes for the check. Eventually, we decided to go straight to the cash register to settle our bill. While the food is fantastic, the service issues are a deal-breaker for us, and we won't be returning.
The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming and the food was great. Tikka Masla, Samosa, Vindaloo, Chole bhature was all delicious, five stars. They were very considerate of the fact that I had small children so the food was not too spicy. Even when we left we could smell the food outside. I will definitely be going back.
Food here is exceptional. Get the dosa, it comes as a big roll, extremely crunchy and soft. I ordered the Pepper Chicken, which was perfectly spicy and well seasoned. Parking is easy, prices are reasonable, food is wonderful. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30
