Great local diner a must try if you want the old school diner vibe. I had a work breakfast here with 6 colleagues for a casual Friday work get together. Our waitress was super lovely, I do not remember her name but she had the blue and blackstiletto nails. They allowed me to choose what table for my party and even though we selected a booth in the back the waitresswas attentive throughout the whole meal. Food came out all together for each entree which was impressive as the group ordered a variety of items from eggs and bacon to chicken and waffles to crab cake eggs Benedict. The waitress was very rude?because I was asking too many questions about the menu. She asked me if she could come back after I figured it out but I was asking her so I could figure it out. Then she went to tell her manager on me and had my tabletransferred to another server. The grits are disgusting they need to put some cream and butter in it! No where on the Menu doesit say they have grits and that probably why?.they really don?t know how to make them. The manager was nice thats why they got1 star! French toast was just toast?.the coffee was delicious and the bacon was right!
Food was hot and exactly what I expected good and fresh I ordered Country Meat Scramble and French Toast 8 Halves with Fresh Strawberries an apple juice and an orange juice split it with my husband and we still have a little left over portion sizes are generous enough to eat and get full.. I always love the food from here. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want some good food like homemade goodness without the hassle of cooking and cleaning up the mess
Jim's is an Alameda gem! Always top notch service, huge menu, and you can't go wrong ordering because everything is delicious! My current personal favorite is the Chili Verde Omelette, and the chili is so good I order extra (that's a free pro-tip). Anytime of day Jim's is a treat. In the realm of diners, Jim's is top shelf and we're lucky to have it here in Alameda!

The eggs, toast, potatoes and coffee were perfect. The serloin steak on the other hand was not good. I ordered my steak medium rare but got well done and tough. Jims usually doesnt disappoint but I was definitely disappointed this morning. I am on a fixed income so I really dislike paying for anything I dont get so I will not be ordering this meal again.
Amazing all I have to say. Haven't been here in 10 plus years and just as awesome as before . IT was my grandma's favorite place to eat for breakfast since they opened before she passed. Love that hands down is the same as I remember. Clean friendly staffand good food can't go wrong at Jim's!

Great breakfast place. When you feel like treating yourself to a nice, big breakfast this is the spot. Lots of options but I've always stuck to breakfast. Plenty of parking and lots of good vibes here.

I've been coming here for a long time the food good for the most part they do give you a big portion nothing really Wows me how about this place it's just your basic breakfast or lunch location
I loved this place because it's an old school diner, with bar stools and a dining counter. Service people were helluv nice and food was ready in no time.
