Hen Jiu Yi Qian is a fantastic spot for late-night snacks, reminiscent of what you might find in Asia. While they specialize in skewers and smaller plates, they also offer larger entrees. Our group ordered the cabbage and lamb pot, pickled cucumbers, eggplant fried rice, and spicy cold noodles. The restaurant is small, but we were seated quickly at midnight due to the many open tables available. However, we were placed behind a large party, which made it challenging to get in and out, and their constant movements disrupted my experience, even with me sitting sideways in my chair. We noticed that this place had just opened up fairly recently and decided to pop in for an early dinner to give it a try. Now, this place seems to be going through an identity crisis and it's clear that they don't know what type of atmosphere they want to create. There are sections of the restaurant that had cute decor then other sections where it seems like a nightclub, with strobing lights, LEDs and music blasting. After a late-night event, a group of friends and I found ourselves in need of a very late dinner. Many restaurants were already closed, so I called around to see who was still open. When we arrived, the manager, Danny, quickly set us up at a table. Since it was our first visit, we decided to order some skewers, but were unsure about what else to try. Danny was extremely helpful, assisting us in choosing additional items that fit our budget. Some of my friends couldn’t handle spicy food, so we asked Danny if the chef could whip up a mild soup that wasn’t on the menu. He kindly made it happen. The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back!
One of my favorite spots for skewers and spicy cold noodles! I do miss the days when they had the electric grill for cooking the skewers yourself, but the skewers are still flavorful and have a nice texture. I was a bit disappointed with the crawfish, as the sauce was quite watery and the peppercorns overshadowed everything else. Perhaps I had a different dish in mind, as I would have preferred a thicker sauce that allowed the garlic flavor to shine through better alongside the peppercorns. Surprised! Cutie place with the perfect Friday vibes to start the weekend. Good skewered bbq, with just the right music and good singer! Service was attentive, leaving you alone to enjoy your dinner and wine, yet come over right away when you need them! It's nice if you want to stay until late since it closes at 2am! A new found! Super loud music, miserable lighting, meat was not pre seasoned. The seasoning is just like the seasoning we will buy in the supermarket. Super Super bad experience, the pricier than what his work deserved. Once again, if you have any heart disease, don’t go there, the music and lighting can cause you heart attack!!!
