Only my second time to Joey Chiu's. Not my selection friends picked it as a place to meet for dinner. The service was adequate. The place was very full on a Monday evening. For 6 people they served one small cup of the crackers with the hot mustard an sweet sour dips. They did not refill it or put 2 out which would have made sense for a table our size. I purposely ordered Hunan Chicken which I frequently get from our local place Golden House so I could compare. There was no comparison. The Joey Chiu's version was extremely bland. Lots of sauce but not much flavor. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. Actually, the waiter pretty much left us alone, so good thing we did not...
In summary, the food at Joey Chiu's Greenspring Inn is exceptional and skillfully crafted. The service is top-notch, and the ambiance is charming. While it is pricier than standard takeout, the additional cost is well worth it. Some classic dishes come with a subtle twist—for example, the General Tso's chicken is lightly breaded, and the crispy beef isn't as crunchy as expected. Nevertheless, they set a high standard for quality dining.
The food is decent. It was recommended to me by someone who believed it was prepared in a healthier manner compared to typical Chinese restaurants in the city, and I think that’s accurate. However, I felt it could have used a bit more seasoning. I ordered the shrimp fried rice, and I also tried the crab wontons, which were quite good. I might return to sample something different. The prices are a bit on the higher side as well.
Had a few gift cards here…. Actually the worst food we have ever tasted. We ordered 5 apps and 5 entrees.Everyone in our party said the same exact thing. Food was bland, no taste at all. Shrimp toast looks like jelly inside and is completely foul. 3 5 people went home and sat on the toilet for a half hour. Went here two weeks ago and still until this day I want to puke thinking of this food. So disgusting. Do not eat here.

I highly recommend and we will be back. Enjoyed an evening with cousins. Had a delicious glass of Sauvignon Blanc and entree shrimp lo mein. Shrimp were jumbo and the dish was very flavorful. I only needed a dash of soy sauce. The rating could have easily been 5 stars if my cousin’s burger was cooked well as requested and if it didn’t take a noticeably long time to get our food.
If you're looking for delicious Chinese cuisine, Joey Chiu's Greenspring Inn is the place to visit. I highly recommend it! Whenever I crave quality Chinese food, this restaurant tops my list. Although I've only dined in once a while ago, I usually order takeout, and my meals are always ready promptly and served hot. Their menu offers a great variety that never disappoints.
This restaurant is fantastic! Everything I've tried has been delicious. However, I do have one complaint about the shrimp. It wasn't very good. They either need to find a better shrimp supplier or learn how to prepare it so it doesn't taste off. If you’re familiar with quality shrimp, you might want to avoid ordering it here.
The crab cake was outstanding! The service was excellent as well. However, parking can be a bit challenging during lunchtime since it’s located in a bustling medical district. The menu offers a wonderful variety of Asian dishes.

Joey Chiu's is a staple for me as far as Chinese Cuisine. My daughter chose the Father Daughter dinner spot this night and we were both very happy with the service and the quality of food was fantastic per usual.
Dinner was very delicious and the service was great as well.
