We ate here on Saturday night. It was quite busy; most tables were taken. It has a friendly, casual atmosphere and excellent wait staff with fast and friendly service. My husband had a "Mate's special -with Joey's fish, 2 types of shrimp, coleslaw and rice pilaf. I had a Joey's fish & sauteed scampi with salad and rice pilaf. Along with good-sized portions, nice choice of sides, there was choice in how things were prepared. My husband had regular fried fish, but I had lightly pan-friend rice-flour (gluten free) dusted filets(2). Both meals were delicious and very filing! I used to eat here years ago on a regular basis when I worked at Staples.Today I ordered their Halibut, which for obvious reasons was significantly more expensive than I remembered, but I was ok with that, until I saw the portion sizes of the fish.The food was good, but was no where near worth the money I paid for it.
This used to be one of my favourite places to eat. Not anymore. Still some of the same staff so I'm not sure what has changed behind the scenes. But their service was terrible and the portions small while the prices have increased. So disappointed.
Ordered for a team Lunch and was incredibly disappointed. Portion Sue was small. Haddock was a 3x4 inch square and was thin. Fries were not crisp. Was a disappointment to our team. We will not be going back.

This has become a place we visit once or twice a month. The reason for our continued support is simple. Great fish, great service and great pies. I am not a fan of their chips, but the rest make up for it.

The fries were terrible and the fish is small compared to other places I have been to. The service and staff were great. Won't be back.
