There is no better place in West Des Moines for a business dinner, romantic weekend or after a work drink. After a number of long and frustrating flights you arrive at Hotel The Rewind. You drive your bags into the room, torment your laptop to bed [only enough to know that you are angry, but not enough to break it] and leave the room for Johnny in the lobby. This place has an exquisite menu selection. You can be seated under fancy chandeliers or have a seat at the bar. I took my son here for his 21st birthday dinner celebration with immediate family members. Not many restaurants have the drink selection like Johnny's so my biryhday boy and myself order Martinis although some opted for beer. It isn't just anywhere one can order Beef Wellington so my boys took this dinner option. I chose the signature Italian steak and others chose another Italian dish and even lamb for dinner. We got room service staying at the Doubletree it’s connected to Johnny’s Italian steakhouse. It was a really amazing I got the trio which I highly suggest if you don’t want to choose between steak, pasta, and chicken! Very tasty crust on the steak. Also came with a surprisingly huge salad, and amazing bread with oil on the side… the salad had olives, fresh grated Parmesan cheese and also one banana pepper! Hamburger was favorable, but undercooked, ask for well done and you’ll be good. I appreciate the service after a long day we got something so delicious serve to our room!
Not bad for a dinner and cocktail at the bar. Actually an excellent place for a cocktail at the bar. I had the pipe and it was phenomenal- I've never had a drink for so long, just sitting and enjoying his taste. The food was also great, cannot go wrong with steak and shrimp. I crawled down the side of the vegetables that were surprisingly tasteful. Only disappointment was the mediocre side salad.
Came in about a month ago and had a wonderful experience. my server was Mac, who was very attentive and added a welcoming feel to our evening. I ordered the NY Strip, which was prepared excellently (practically melted in your mouth). The cocktails that we ordered were phenomenal as well. It was a bit pricey but totally worth every penny. 10/10 would go back.
We had reservations for a party of 13 at 19:00 on a very busy Saturday night. We just arrived a few minutes early and our table was ready and waiting. Our waitress could no longer have been pleasant and gave us the right amount of attention. We received our drinks and food very punctually and everything was delicious. We'd go back there.
