The service was excellent, and the food was enjoyable. I tried the French toast, a fruit pancake (I can't recall its exact name), and a regular pancake. The regular pancakes were fantastic! The fruit pancake was tasty, although it was smaller than I expected. Be prepared to wait about 25 minutes for your food to be prepared, so it's a good idea to pay for 2-3 hours at the meter to avoid a parking ticket. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce on the French toast; the toast was cut into small pieces. I'm glad I gave this place a shot and might return to try the blueberry pancakes. An absolute gem in the Grosse Pointes. The owners, Mo and Chad, have made this lovely place like eating at home with a large group of friends. Mo is present at every table, serving food, sharing hospitality, making new friends. The cuisine is elegantly simple. We ordered French toast, blueberry pancakes, eggs Benedict and another specialty egg dish. All four of us experienced a lovely dance of flavors on our tongues. If you want good food, eat here. Jumps is a fantastic restaurant that I highly recommend for breakfast and lunch. I would also suggest trying dinner, but unfortunately, they are currently not open in the evening. However, there are rumors that they will resume dinner service soon. Chef Chet is exceptional and prepares some incredibly unique and delicious dishes—definitely not your typical bacon and eggs!
What an amazing chef-driven restaurant! I could dine here every day. In my opinion, their hamburger is the best in the Detroit area. The challenge is that everything else on the menu is so delicious, it makes choosing what to order quite difficult. The service is consistently great, and the food is always tasty. I rated the food a 4 only because I didn't care for everything I've tried. It has nothing to do with the chef, it just a personal choice. I think he is very talented. I especially like the puff pancake. It's a must have. Hope one day they can reopen for dinner dining.
