Seven breweries used to be operating in Miltenberg. That is quite a large number, considering that Miltenberg has a population of less than 10,000. Now only one is left however – Brewery Faust. The penultimate one, the Kalt-Loch-Brewery, closed its gates in 2010. The delicious Kalt-Loch beer is still being brewed though by the brewery Eder and Heylands, and you can still order it at the restaurant Kalt-Loch-Bräustüble, which still exists at the old address where the brewery used to be (Hauptstraße 201).This is also a great place if you wish to try traditional Franconian food. Our local German friend brought us here for lunch as he considered it the best of the pubs in Miltenberg. The menu is traditional for the area, as is the ambience of the restaurant. As a vegetarian I was ready to cope as usual, so was pleasantly surprised to see two traditional items prepared for vegetarians. Of course, they are not fully traditional since vegetarianism isn't, but they were appropriately prepared and very flavourful.
Sharing food is not desired here, that is ‘non-economic’. We wanted to share a shrub that's going, but only with a cutlery :D The good woman didn't want to talk to herself and insisted that for cost reasons only one set of cutlery comes to a meal. Thank you for the good laugh, unfortunately, it's not enough. I only know something like this from Touri Falls. Happy business :D
We visited the Christmas market in Miltenberg then returned to this oldest host house (15 century.Very rustic and cozy, we were very nice received. Have also chosen us for cattle roulade and wild boeingulasch,both plates were super full and very tasty,a perfect conclusion for the day .This host house is always worth a visit

Machten hier zum Mittagessen halt. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich, das fränkische Essen ganz hervorragend und das köstliche und eiskalte Schlappe Seppel Bier nicht zu toppen. Absolut empfehlenswert!
