Excellent! We visited the lunch buffet for our first visit to the Kathmandu Restaurant and loved everything we tried. The selection is great and the buffet is clean and well maintained. I loved the comfortable and beautifully decorated room. The restaurant staff was friendly and quickly served our water. If you want to taste new and different dishes, enjoy the variety of entree selections at the buffet. Finish your meal with a wide selection of hand-cooked ice cream (mango taste was delicious) or homemade rice pudding.
Stunning delicious food with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Warm and cozy atmosphere, very relaxed and gentle. Adjustable spice options are A. I would take all friends or family here in a heartbeat and plan to return often. Appetizer and Entrees come with a delicious four-topping/condiment set that lets you arrange your dish to your taste. Portions are filled and definitely suitable for lunch the next day when you get a nice selection. Absolutely recommended!
kathmandu has several clearly marked vegan and vegetarian elements on their menu. I enjoyed the vegan momo that are Nepalese noodles and come with a very tasty spicy sauce. we also ordered two more vegan curries that had beautiful spicy and aromen, but unfortunately were a little undersalted. perhaps there was an unfortunate day; I would be willing to give the advantage of the doubt and try kathmandu again!
My boyfriend and I were visiting Des Moines and were craving Indian food. I came across this place, which is super easy to miss when driving. However, MAKE THE STOP! The owner is super friendly and very knowledgeable about what is vegan on the menu. We went for dinner and we left with happy hearts and full bellies. We actually had a lot leftover too! It’s a decent price and a lot of food! Highly recommend.
So many vegan options! I let the waiter (who I suspect might also have been the owner) pick his favorite vegan dish for me and it was excellent. I went with friends who are not vegan and he was quick to warn me that the non is not vegan so I wouldn't partake. I really appreciated the heads up.
