I grew up in with a neighborhood bakery, and great baked goods every weekend. When I went back to the old neighborhood, it was gone, and I've only found poor substitutes for the next 30 years. Then I found Kean's, and it has lived up to my old memories. Busy with overworked counter-women who are always polite and courteous, and fantastic baked goods. This time of the year the paczkis can't be beat with delicious filling and lovely soft dough. Their doughnuts are great every single day. Their cupcakes and cakes are delicious. I wanted cinnamon rolls for my office. I was looking for cinnamon near me and Kanes came as a local business. I saw the big fluffy rolls on the photos (not the regular donut shops). They only offer the fluffy on the weekend in the photo. I bought the regular style for my office and found it a bit dry and the glaze was much too thick and sweet for my taste. The store was clean and in the old part of Itasca.

I can never say enough how wonderful the pastries are, service outstanding and local family establishment that's been around for generations. Places like this are a gem; few and far between. You must come while you can! Call ahead for hours of operations and just come! The Breads, The Cookies, Their Famous Pastry Pizza(trust me), Doughnuts, kolaczkis, pazckis.. just YUM, all homemade on site.

My wife and I love stopping by every Saturday morning to pick up any number of assorted baked goods. The baked cinnamon rolls are my favorite, though I haven’t been able to find something they don’t do well. Try the French silk pie as well! Réservez une table maintenant

I really liked the chocolate Long John, but my daughters didn't care for the donuts. I paid $15 for a half dozen regular donuts, and honestly, I wasn't impressed. I get it, but it’s just not for me.

Staff is super friendly. The donuts are always amazing, the croissant with chocolate on it are my absolute favorite! And their cakes are amazingly delicious!

This bakery has an incredible aroma that hits you as soon as you walk in. I picked up 2 pounds of cookies, some cherry slices, and a raspberry muffin loaf.
