we were looking for a cozy restaurant with German kitchen and found the beautiful place in a historical environment below the old crossroads/closter mountain range. the restaurant is located in a more than 300 year old frame house, beautifully restored. the houses are all. completely restored with various restaurants. we were lucky to get a table spontaneously, I think a table would be better in advance. the menu is everything you can imagine from the local kitchen to typical German dishes. not to choose many vegetarian dishes, but they are ready to prepare something when they ask. Under the castle of Chemnitz there are a few little houses from the Middle Age. Renovated, they are mostly active as restaurants. Having to bring to eat a group of guests, I chooses this one as it was the only to answer.. Location: picturesque Ambiente:...interesting, cared, typical german Staff : friendly and competent Menu: local and german food offer Bein on duty couldn't really relax and enjoy: the calf lever with fried onions and purè was good and I plan to take time to a quieter visit.
The restaurant looks nice and staff is friendly. But... the menu has very few vegetarian options. I chose a salad with cantharel. The salad lacked flavour (tasteless) and even worse, the cantharel wasn't cleaned properly so after a few cantharel with sand I stopped eating....Don't go if you are a vegetarian.
I was in the cellar with a friend for dinner. we arrived late, but the friendly witness offered us to hurry the order before the kitchen closes. we have our very tasty dinner very fast and enjoyed this evening. kellerhaus is absolutely recommended!

I visited the Kellerhaus a couple of years ago but still remember it as a nice and good restaurant! Definitely try the local meals drinks. As a desert I had the white yoghurt/ice cream, topped with red fruits. Absolutely delicious!
Good food typical from Saxony but some ingredients are not fresh but frozen. .. Welcoming personnel Unfortunately you pass close to the kitchen when you enter the place and you smell it. It is still a good place
Place was beautiful! Very old building and they have save old atmosphere inside also. Food was good and service also. Price was reasonable. If you go Chemnitz, you should go this place definitely.
I often go there, nice German food. the quality is good and you have enough on the teller. the service is good. I like the old German environment in there (rustikal.)

Came to Chemnitz to visit a friend. HAD to eat here both nights! Amazing food! Good wine! Fabulous sitting outside. A do not miss' if visiting Chemnitz.
