I was in four or five Straussis and can judge this from these visits. The Kerbers Strausi is just fine, good food, good drink, beautiful environment and that's that. It's average. No Straussi stands out (in my somewhat limited experience). Nothing extraordinary, except perhaps that his popularity speaks for himself when we (five) were there on a Friday night it was very busy. But the service was sufficiently moderate and we did not wait overly long (except, strange, we went to pay in as it was just faster). A really nice restaurant in a beautiful environment right in front of Staufen. Undoubtedly, but the locals know about this hiding place, there is no sign of L125. But the place is very popular and sometimes difficult to get a table. You can reserve in advance and at least one of the waiting staff a pretty young woman speaks big (english accented) English! The menu is not extensive and is usually regional favorites. Prices are good and the service attentive and appropriate. As a winery, the wines from here are worth no doubt good sampling, although we are not during our visit on a hot summer day. No desire at all, but good food in a very relaxed and lively environment.
This restaurant is open from April until end of October (I suppose). It's placed in a very nice surrounding with an excellent possibility to sit and eat outside. The food is good and not too fat which is sometimes a problem with this kind of local restaurants. They serve typical local food + some day special which is normally a bit more sophisticated. The staff is friendly and fast. Normally there is no problem with moving a table or whatever. Definitely a place I recommend.

In desperation they will sit with anyone anywhere only to make those who they join feel totally uncomfortable. The women and their child who joined us carried on their own loud conversation causing us to pay and flee.Had the badische schäufele which was cold, tough, and dry. We were very disappointed.

The women and their child, who joined us, had a loud conversation that brought us to pay and flee. Had the bad drunk that was cold, hard and dry. We were very disappointed.

Went on a sunny Sunday in May, Spargelzeit, sat in the sun and enjoyed a glass or two of wine and a nice meal.
